LAS VEGAS TEAM SETTLES CASE FOR PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR!

Attorney Crystal Matteson and the Firm's Las Vegas Team recently settled a highly disputed case for $18,000 - over $150,000 less than plaintiff's pre-litigation settlement demand (and significantly less than the settlement authority provided by the Firm's client's insurance carrier)!

In this action, plaintiff, a 78 year-old man, was injured as the result of a motor vehicle accident with the Firm's client who was driving an R.V. The Firm's client was cited for causing the collision and there was minimal room to argue comparative fault.

In his successful petition for exemption from the Court's mandatory arbitration program (applicable to all cases valued at less than $50,000), plaintiff claimed medical specials of $71,000 as a result of the accident, for chiropractic care and orthopaedic treatment (including lumbar spine surgery).

During its pro-active efforts to facilitate early case resolution, the Firm's LV Team obtained a medical records review which revealed that an unrelated tumor had caused plaintiff's pain; and the medical specials were in fact closer to $7,000 (instead of the $71,000 claimed).

After three days of ongoing communications with plaintiff's counsel, Firm litigator Crystal Matteson successfully settled the case for the significantly reduced amount of $18,000!
