CRAWFORD V. WEATHERSHIELD UNDER REVIEW BY CALIFORNIA SUPREME COURT
The California Supreme Court has agreed to review the case of Crawford v. Weathershield previously reported by the Firm, as follows:
Petition for review GRANTED. The issue to be briefed and argued is limited to the following: Did a contract under which a subcontractor agreed "to defend any suit or action" against a developer "founded upon" any claim "growing out of the execution of the work" require the subcontractor to provide a defense to a suit against the developer even if the subcontractor was not negligent? Votes: George, C.J., Kennard, Baxter, Werdegar, Chin, Moreno, and Corrigan, JJ. Once the Supreme Court has published its opinion, we will provide a follow-up posting re same.
