FIRM WINS MOTION FOR NON-SUIT!
Senior Partner Christopher Maile and Associate Tracey Oh recently prevailed in a two phase trial in which the Firm’s client, Farmers Group, Inc., was alleged to be the alter ego of, or in a single enterprise with, co-defendants Farmers Insurance Exchange and Fire Insurance Exchange.
During the first phase of the trial tried to the Court, Mr. Maile obtained a verdict in favor of Farmers Group, Inc., the Court finding Farmers Group, Inc. is not the alter ego, or is it part of, a single enterprise with the Exchange defendants.
The second phase of the trial was tried to a Jury. At the close of plaintiff’s case, Mr. Maile and Ms. Oh moved for non-suit as to the plaintiff’s remaining causes of action for breach of contract, bad faith and joint venture. The Motion of Non-Suit was granted!
