BYRON L. AMES is a Partner in the Firm's Las Vegas and Utah offices. His practice focuses on all phases of general litigation and transactional work.

Mr. Ames’ recent experience includes:

• Serving as lead counsel for a major trucking company fighting allegations of multiple OSHA and Surface Transportation Assistance Act violations.
  


• Obtaining a summary judgment for a homeowner in a fraud, negligence and misrepresentation case.



• Negotiating a multi-million dollar settlement for a subcontractor in complex litigation involving environmental claims stemming from construction defects.

During his career, Mr. Ames has:

• Interned at the United States Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Washington;
  


• Argued a Social Security case before a Federal Magistrate Judge of the United States District Court on behalf of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the East District of Washington; and
  


• Successfully argued and defended a case before the United States Department of Labor's Chief Administrative Law Judge.

In addition to his educational degrees as set forth below, Mr. Ames attended Oxford Brookes University in England. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoys skiing, cycling, rock climbing, whitewater canoeing and travel. He has instructed a year term University level "Wilderness Survival" course, and also serves as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts.
